If I'm not mistaken, BOTH. 4.1.1 is just a newer release of 4.1. The most
talked about change is the removal of rsaref (RSA) dependancies. You can
read the changes in the RELNOTES.TXT at
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/releases/i386/4.1.1.-RELEASE/ for more
info on other changes since the 4.1 release. There's also the 4.1 directory
if you need to back up a little. 3.x is available too, though I'm not sure
of it's support for that chipset. Do some reading and decide what's best for
you.

  Dear sir,
  Thanks for your quickly reply.

I have another question. I intend to use SuperMicro's motherboard that had
integrated with Adaptec's AIC-7892 SCSI Controller, But SuperMicro's
engineer told me that their motherboards didn't support FreeBSD because of
Adaptec AIC-7892/AIC-7899 SCSI Controller. Could you tell me which's version
will support this SCSI controller? Is it V4.1 or V4.1.1? I am wondering.

  Any help will be appreciated.

  Best regards

It is supported under the ahc driver. man ahc (one of the adaptec scsi
drivers in freebsd) yields the following description:

    DESCRIPTION
This driver provides access to the SCSI bus(es) connected to
Adaptec

AIC7892,
         AIC7895, AIC7896, AIC7897 and AIC7899 host adapter chips. These

      To whom it may concern,
I intend to install FreeBSD into my system that is integrated with
Adaptec Ultra160 (AIC-7892 controller) SCSI Card. I am wondering whether
FreeBSD supports this SCSI Card. I had checked Adaptec's web site, they
didn't provide the driver for FreeBSD.

      Any help will be appreciated.
