Dear listers, I have got some funny experience in compiling gcc-2.95.2 on DU4.0e and Tru64/5.0. So, I would like to get some comments here. I am compiling big packages on DU4.0e and Tru64/5.0. For doing so I often need gcc. But, I found that gcc-2.95.2 is not eacy to compile from scratch on DU4.0e and Tru64/5.0. It seems to me that DU's /usr/ccs/lib/cmplrs/cc/ld in the latest dupatch-kit may be broken; binaries are not linked properly. # Stock ld that comes with DU4.0e itself works. Meanwhile, it seems more troublesome to compile gcc-2.95.2 on Tru64/5.0. I wonder if some of you can compile gcc-2.95.2 from scratch---just ./configure and make LANGUAGES="c ... " bootstrap-lean.
