Ever since stable of around 4.4, I have been having strange sound problems. Whenever there is any CPU or disk activity my sound breaks up and beeps ands issues a series of other unpleasant sounds. It happens with both esound and the native OS driver support stuff, like with mpg123. I have tried increasing buffer size in XMMS and mpg123, but it has no noticeable effect. This is incredibly annoying? BTW, it does not do this in windows, so I doubt it's a hardware issue. Here is cat /dev/sndstat: FreeBSD Audio Driver (newpcm) Jan 28 2002 13:37:37 Installed devices: pcm0: <VIA VT82C686A> at io 0xdc00 irq 10 (1p/1r/0v channels duplex) Thanks.
